THE CHALLENGE

JINYA Ramen Bar was expanding into Colorado Springs and needed to make a strong first impression to generate interest, foot traffic and brand awareness. Adding to the complexity was timing. Hosting the Preview Day on a summer Saturday posed a logistical challenge, especially in a smaller media market where weekend plans and travel often compete for attention. Generating buzz required creative outreach and compelling reasons for local media, influencers and community leaders to attend the restaurant’s grand opening – and subsequently drive reservations.

HOW WE GOT THERE

Collaborating with the JINYA team, Next PR supported a Preview Day that made attendees feel like part of something exciting by offering exclusive, early access before the restaurant opened to the public. To build momentum ahead of the event, Next PR coordinated opportunities for the JINYA team to cook on-air during local broadcast segments.

For the private event, Next PR invited a mix of local media, influential food and lifestyle creators and connected community members including leaders from the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Partnership. By leveraging their networks and credibility, Next PR was able to amplify word-of-mouth and social media coverage.

Influencers unable to attend the original date were offered a “make-up day” so they could still feel part of it. All guests were invited with a plus one, so everyone felt included – and even help spread the word. The guests were also allowed to try anything on the menu so they could create unique and compelling content.

THE RESULTS

Within the first week of opening, JINYA Ramen bar was so busy there was an hour-and-a-half wait to be seated, reflecting high local enthusiasm. Media coverage, which included write-ups in the Colorado Springs Gazette and a segment on the local Fox 21 program Loving, Living, Local, along with influencer posts, highlighted broad visibility and lasting brand awareness secured by Next PR.
